The following is a brief summary of events regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026, near the intersection of West Diamond Avenue and the I-270 ramp in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 9:43 p.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, responders located an adult male motorcyclist with serious injuries. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported, and the adult male driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available.
