This is the MCPD daily crime summary for May 14, 2026. Notably, there were multiple incidents of theft from vehicles and aggravated assaults reported in various locations.
Incidents
- Aggravated Assault – Wootton Pkwy / Hurley Ave – A group of suspects on mopeds and scooters confronted a man, causing him to crash his moped. The suspects then chased him through a construction site and assaulted him.
- Commercial Burglary (Vacant Building) – 6000 block Montrose Rd – Officers responded after a caller reported people throwing items off the roof of an abandoned building. Five juveniles were detained.
- Homicide – 5700 block Marinelli Rd (Marriott) – Officers responded and found a man with a fatal gunshot wound in a parking lot. The investigation is ongoing.

- Weapons Offense (Discharge) – 400 block N Summit Ave – A resident discovered bullet holes in his vehicle after hearing what he believed were gunshots overnight. Officers recovered shell casings. No injuries were reported.
- Aggravated Assault (Arrests) – 17000 block King James Way – Two suspects were arrested and a handgun and a rifle were recovered.
