Incidents

  • Aggravated Assault – Wootton Pkwy / Hurley Ave – A group of suspects on mopeds and scooters confronted a man, causing him to crash his moped. The suspects then chased him through a construction site and assaulted him.
  • Commercial Burglary (Vacant Building) – 6000 block Montrose Rd – Officers responded after a caller reported people throwing items off the roof of an abandoned building. Five juveniles were detained.
  • Homicide – 5700 block Marinelli Rd (Marriott) – Officers responded and found a man with a fatal gunshot wound in a parking lot. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Theft from Auto (Airbag) – 2200 block Washington Ave – Airbags were stolen from vehicles at the following locations: Between Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m. and Thursday, May 14 at 9 a.m.
  • Theft from Auto (Airbag) – 500 block Thayer Ave – An airbag was stolen from a vehicle between Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m. and Friday, May 15 at 4:54 a.m.
  • Weapon Possession at School – 1900 block Schindler Dr. (Francis Scott Key Middle School) – A student reported seeing what appeared to be a firearm in another student’s backpack. The student had left school grounds before officers arrived.
  • Hate/Bias Graffiti – 13500 block Richter Farm Rd (Northwest High School) – Hate-based graffiti was discovered on school property. The graffiti was removed.
  • Weapons Offense (Discharge) – 400 block N Summit Ave – A resident discovered bullet holes in his vehicle after hearing what he believed were gunshots overnight. Officers recovered shell casings. No injuries were reported.
  • Aggravated Assault (Arrests) – 17000 block King James Way – Two suspects were arrested and a handgun and a rifle were recovered.
