Man Charged with Series of Peeping Tom and Indecent Exposure Cases; Additional Victims a Concern

For Immediate Release: Friday, January 23, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section have arrested and charged 32-year-old Steven Jarezz Adams of Silver Spring with indecent exposure, peeping tom, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and trespassing posted property, following a series of incidents that occurred between mid-December 2025 and January 2026. Detectives have released a photo of Adams and encourage anyone who may be a victim of indecent exposure by Adams to come forward.

The investigation has revealed that on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at approximately 3:46 a.m., Adams exposed himself through a sliding glass door to a female victim inside her home in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane in Gaithersburg before leaving the scene.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Adams walked to a window of another residence in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane. A female victim observed the shadow of a person through a window and, upon opening the blinds, saw Adams, who then walked away from the residence and left the area.

On the same day, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Adams was seen by a neighbor shining a flashlight through the sliding glass door of a home in the 17700 block of Silkcotton Way in Gaithersburg. Adams then left the scene.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a male victim was inside his home in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane when he received notification on his cell phone that his security cameras had sensed motion on his patio. The victim confronted Adams who then pulled out a knife and swung it towards the victim before leaving the scene.

Through investigative efforts, detectives identified Adams as the suspect and learned that Adams had been arrested for peeping tom incidents in 2022.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant, charging him with indecent exposure, trespassing, first-degree assault and related charges.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., detectives observed Adams walking to the rear of a multi-level apartment complex in the 8000 block of Gramercy Blvd. in Derwood. With the assistance of a MCPD drone, also known as Raven, detectives monitored Adams from a safe distance. The drone captured Adams looking into several ground level apartment windows and doors and exposing himself.

When officers from the 1st, 5th and 6th District- Special Assignment Teams approached Addams to take into custody, Adams ran away. After a short foot chase, officers placed him under arrest.

Adams was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.

Based on the above incidents, detectives believe that there may be more victims who have not contacted police.  Detectives are urging anyone who believes themselves to be a victim to contact the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770 or visit the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, MD website at www.crimesolversmcmd.org and click on the “www.p3tips.com” link at the top of the page or call 1-866-411-8477.
