Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s Weekly Media Briefing at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, to Focus on Suicide Prevention Through 988

Reporters are encouraged to participate in this week’s virtual media briefing happening Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 12:30 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to ask Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions.
The County Executive will discuss the importance of the national 988 suicide prevention line, that has been in place since 2022. Since the line launched, participation has steadily increased both nationally and locally. In Montgomery County, EveryMind operates the service and reports having more than 4,000 local interactions last fiscal year through chat and by text. This week’s guest will be:

The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should contact Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’ [email protected] by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
