Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will have the opportunity to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The County Executive will welcome Maryland Labor Secretary Portia Wu to discuss the Family and Medical Leave Insurance program (FAMLI), the successor to Maryland’s Time to Care Act. It will give Marylanders vital job security, a financial lifeline in times of duress, and time to care for their families’ needs.

The County Executive will also discuss the opening of The Chimes, affordable housing accomplishments over the past seven years, and the continued threat from the federal administration to social services funding administered by the County.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government, and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’connor@montgomerycountymd.gov on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
