Applications Due Thursday, Oct. 1
Montgomery County is accepting applications for groups interested in participating in the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, which will step off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Silver Spring. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, Oct. 1.
Applications are available on the Silver Spring Downtown Thanksgiving Parade webpage. The Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade is a seasonal tradition that draws thousands of residents and visitors to the Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District each fall.

Past parades have featured huge inflatable characters and balloons, costumed performers, baton twirlers, and floats. The parade is seeking applications from marching bands, floats, multicultural performance groups, dance troupes, and other creative units. Thanksgiving, harvest- and holiday-themed entries are particularly encouraged. All units must be visually appealing for the viewing audience.
The parade route will begin at Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street, continue south along Georgia Avenue, and conclude at Silver Spring Avenue.
