Third Lost Knife Murder Suspect Arrested

For Immediate Release: Friday, December 15, 2023

Gaithersburg, MD – A third suspect wanted in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Alan Garnica has been arrested.

18-year-old, Rodrigo Hernandez of Gaithersburg was taken into custody on T hursday, December 14, 2023, on the strength of an arrest warrant obtained on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Hernandez was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where he has been charged with first degree murder. He is currently being held without bond.

Garnica, of Gaithersburg, was shot and killed in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle on Friday, November 10, 2023.

19-year-old Kenes Yair Guevara and 20-year-old Osman Antonio Maldonado were arrested on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, for their alleged involvement in the shooting death of the 22-year-old. They are both being held without bond.
