Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigating East West Highway Fatal Collision

Gaithersburg, MD – A 54-year-old Olney woman has died following a traffic collision that occurred on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Personnel responded to a collision that occurred at East-West Hwy. and Blair Mill Rd.
The preliminary investigation by Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives has revealed that a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on East-West Hwy., when it made a left turn and collided with an eastbound blue 2004 Toyota Sienna. The right rear passenger of the Sienna was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. On Monday, July 17, 2023, the victim died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the collision.
The victim has been identified as Delois Freeman, of Olney.
