Child Injured In Georgia Avenue Pedestrian Collison

For Immediate Release: Monday, October 20, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a serious pedestrian collision involving a 13-year-old female that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 6:17 p.m.  

 

The collision involved a 2004 Acura TL and a child pedestrian in the area of southbound Georgia Avenue and Evans Drive in Silver Spring. 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the location for the report of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers located a child in the roadway suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Acura remained on the scene.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was attempting to cross southbound Georgia Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, she was struck by the driver of the Acura.

 

At this time the child remains in critical but stable condition with life-threatening injuries.
