Montgomery County Office of Animal Services Expands Weekend Adoption Hours – Mocofeed

Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) will expand its Adoption Center weekend hours to 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on both Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, April 11. Previously, weekend adoption hours were noon–5:00 p.m. 

Opening one hour earlier each weekend will improve access for residents, enhance the visitor experience, and support better outcomes for animals in care. 

Benefits of expanded weekend hours: 

• Greater access for families and residents with weekday schedules  
• Increased opportunities for adoption through more time for visits and matches  
• Reduced crowding and wait times for a smoother experience  
• Improved animal well-being with a calmer, less stressful environment 

“This is a meaningful adjustment for our shelter pets and community,” said Faith Koleszar, Pet Placement Supervisor. “We are creating more opportunities for animals to find their forever homes while also improving service to our community.” 

Adoption Center Hours 

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: noon–7 p.m. 
• Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Closed Wednesdays

MCASAC is operated by the Office of Animal Services and provides high‑standard sheltering and care for homeless, abused, and neglected animals. It is the County’s only open‑admission municipal shelter.
