Planning Director Jason K. Sartori taps Bridget Broullire to be one of two department deputy directors

Wheaton, Md. – The Montgomery County Planning Department , part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) , has announced Bridget Broullire as its new Deputy Director of Administration following a national search. Broullire will oversee Montgomery Planning’s Communications, Management Services, Information Technology & Innovation, and Research and Strategic Projects divisions. She will serve alongside Deputy Director Robert Kronenberg, who oversees all the area planning divisions, the Countywide Planning and Policy Division, and the Intake and Regulatory Coordination Division. Both deputy positions report to Planning Director Jason K. Sartori.

Broullire has been serving in the acting capacity of her new role since January 2024, and she had been the department’s Communications Division Chief since 2020, guiding the strategic communications approach for more than 25 master plans and numerous projects and policies. Broullire started at Montgomery Planning as the Communications Manager in 2013. Throughout her tenure, she has served as an advisor and communicator for the Director’s Office and the Montgomery County Planning Board, with a focus on equitable engagement and community inclusion in the planning process.

“Over the past 11 years, Bridget’s dedication, expertise, and radiant energy has brought great success to Montgomery Planning,” said Director Sartori. “She has been a trusted partner for me throughout my time at the department, especially in my role as Planning Director, and I have no doubt she will continue to excel in her new role.”

“Bridget has done a masterful job raising the community’s awareness about the department and the impactful work we do to enhance quality of life in Montgomery County,” said Deputy Director Kronenberg. “Her knack for engaging people into the planning process has been, and will continue to be, a tremendous asset to the county and M-NCPPC.”

In the 10 months she was acting deputy director, Broullire led major projects including advancing the department’s equitable engagement initiatives, coordinating the department’s internal strategic planning, working with the leadership team on a Thrive Montgomery 2050 implementation plan, and building relationships with county, state and regional stakeholders to achieve department and county goals.

Broullire earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the Philip Merrill School of Journalism with a minor in marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating, she continued her communications work at Hearst-Argyle Television, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and Rockville 11, the City of Rockville’s award-winning government access channel.
