Gaithersburg Woman Charged with Mother’s Murder

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police has arrested 29-year-old Tiffany Zhang following a homicide investigation in the 19400 block of Olive Tree Way in Gaithersburg.

On Monday, November 4, at approximately 9:53 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call from Zhang, who reported that she had killed her mother, 63-year-old Guichun Hu, the previous day and that Hu’s body was outside their residence in a nearby grass field.

Upon arrival, 6th District officers located Zhang waiting outside, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section were notified and responded to the location.

The victim’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy is scheduled for November 5 to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Zhang was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where she was charged with first-degree murder.
