Gaithersburg, MD – Three teenagers are in custody following an armed robbery inside Northwest High School in Germantown on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
At approximately 12:35 p.m., Montgomery County Department of Police 5th District officers were dispatched to Northwest High School in the 13500 block of Richter Farm Road for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.
The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old student was inside a school bathroom when he was approached by another 15-year-old Northwest student. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect cash, and both students left the bathroom.

The victim reported the robbery, and responding officers began searching for the suspect. Officers located a group of four males near Great Seneca Highway and Wisteria Drive, including one who matched the description of the suspect.
When the 15-year-old suspect saw officers, he separated from the group and was stopped and taken into custody. He did not have a firearm when he was arrested.
Because the handgun used during the robbery had not been recovered, officers stopped the other three teens who had been with the suspect. As officers approached, one of them walked into a wooded area before returning to the group.
A K9 search of the wooded area led officers to a loaded P80 handgun with an extended magazine. Detectives determined that the handgun was the same weapon used during the robbery inside the school.
Through the course of the investigation, officers identified 17-year-old Khalil Ingram as the individual who walked into the wooded area where the handgun was recovered. Detectives also determined that 18-year-old Tayvion Williams had been in possession of the gun.
A fourth teenager who had been with the group was interviewed and released without charges.
The 15-year-old suspect was charged as a juvenile with armed robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime, handgun on person, possession of a regulated firearm by a person under the age of 21 and possession of a firearm without a serial number. He was remanded by the Department of Juvenile Services to the Cheltenham Youth Detention Center.

Ingram was charged as an adult with handgun on person, possession of a regulated firearm by a person under the age of 21 and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Williams was charged as an adult with possession of a regulated firearm by a person under the age of 21 and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Ingram and Williams were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where they are awaiting a bond hearing.
