The featured guests on this week’s edition of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Lourdes Parry, M.D., M.P.H., T.T.S., a physician specializing in public health, and Carmen Lezama, managing director of the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic. Dr. Parry and Ms. Lezama will discuss the resources and support services available through Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic (MKHC) for individuals living with or at risk for diabetes.

The discussion will also spotlight MKHC’s newly funded Food as Medicine program, which helps food-insecure patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension gain access to fresh, locally grown produce from Community FarmShare and nutrition education that supports healthier lifestyles. Listeners will learn about the program’s benefits, eligibility requirements and how Montgomery County residents can apply to participate.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.

Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
