The following is a brief summary of events regarding a North Bethesda homicide.
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 11:37 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police 2nd District officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a 41-year-old male in the parking lot of a Marriott hotel with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was a guest at the hotel. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until Fire Rescue personnel arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, there is no suspect information available. Officers, with assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police, canvassed the area and nearby Metro trains in an effort to locate the suspect.
The Major Crimes Division Homicide Unit is investigating this case. All information provided is preliminary.
