SILVER ALERT: Body of Missing 81-Year-Old Located

For Immediate Release: Monday, September 29, 2025

The body of George Frederick Corum, Jr., the 81-year-old who was the subject of a Silver Alert, was located Sunday evening.

On Sunday, September 28, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Corum was found in a heavily wooded area near Norbeck Road. Fourth District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded, and Corum was pronounced dead at the scene.

Corum, who had dementia, was last seen on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, when he walked away from his home in the 15500 block of Bailey’s Lane in Silver Spring.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, however, no foul play is suspected.
