Construction on the bridge over Mill Creek has been completed, and Redland Road has been reopened. Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) Ride On Bus Routes 53 and 57 are no longer detoured and have returned to service.
The closure of the Redland Road Bridge allowed for a bridge replacement, relocation of WSSC water and a sewage main, roadway work at each end of the bridge, new guardrails and posts, new curbs and gutters, and a storm drainpipe and inlet structure.
While bridge construction is complete, Mill Creek stream restoration will continue, along with new landscaping and roadway signage, until late November 2026. Please be aware that possible single lane closures may take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to transport materials and equipment for this effort.
