Montgomery County’s Commission on Aging to Highlight Services and Resources for Older Residents During Free Virtual Event
For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 23, 2025
Montgomery County’s Commission on Aging (COA) will host a free virtual event to showcase programs and resources that support older adults in living active, healthy and independent lives. The event will be held from 2– 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 .
The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the County’s programs and services for older adults, including wellness and recreation activities, caregiving resources, meal programs, transportation options and opportunities for learning and employment. Attendees also will be able to engage with the Commission and share their interests and concerns.
“We are committed to supporting older adults in Montgomery County by providing the resources they need to remain active, connected and independent,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “This event is an opportunity for residents to learn about the services available to them and to engage with the Commission on Aging. By working together, we can help ensure that our older residents have the tools and support they need to live full and healthy lives in our community.”
Although the event is free and open to the public, registration is required . After registering, a Zoom link will be sent a few days before the event.
The COA advises the County Executive, County Council, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and other County departments on the interests, needs and challenges facing older adults in Montgomery County. The COA identifies key issues where advocacy can make a difference for older adults who want to age in place and remain engaged in their communities.
