Montgomery County recently earned 38 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Awards for innovative programs that improve government and enhance residents’ quality of life. Since 1970, the annual NACo Achievement Awards have honored effective county government initiatives from across the nation.
The awards highlight Montgomery County’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and high-quality public service across a broad range of government programs.
“These awards reflect the promise and creativity of the people who work for Montgomery County,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “Every day, our employees look for better ways to deliver services, solve problems, and meet the needs of our residents. Their work makes our government stronger and our community a better place to live.”

“There is no other local government in our country quite like Montgomery County, Md.,” said Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer Rich Madaleno. “The hard work and dedication of our colleagues to deliver a range of services is unparalleled and worthy of this national recognition. As we are just weeks away from our County’s 250th anniversary, I remind people all the time that we have been a revolutionary community since the very beginning.
