Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be joined by County Council Vice President Will Jawando, the bill’s sponsor, bill cosponsors Council President Kate Stewart, Councilmembers Andrew Friedson, Kristin Mink, Laurie-Anne Sayles and Marilyn Balcombe, Worksource Montgomery Executive Director Anthony Featherstone, representatives of the federal employee union and affected workers for a bill signing ceremony for Expedited Bill 10-25, Personnel and Human Resources-Hiring Displaced Federal Workers. On July 15, the County Council unanimously passed the legislation to create a for displaced federal workers.

    Seriously? Where was he during all the previous RIFs by previous administrations? Where was he when all the businesses had to close during Covid? Where was he when people could not get hired because they could not take the Covid shot? Where was he when any business has had to close and let people go?
    This is a Political push-back, plain and simple.
