Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Councilmember Evan Glass, along with members of the County Council and community leaders, will host the County’s eighth annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Rockville. The plaza is located adjacent to the Leggett Executive Office Building (LEOB) at 101 Monroe St. The community is invited to attend.
Karen Holmes, veteran and transgender advocate, and Valeria Carranza, senior director of government relations at MomsRising, are the featured speakers for the event.
Speakers, Councilmembers and LGBTQ+ community leaders will arrive at approximately 8:50 a.m. aboard the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s #RideWithPride Ride On bus. The bus, wrapped in the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag design, will arrive at the roundabout in front of the LEOB.
