Gaithersburg, MD — The suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in North Bethesda has been arrested and is in custody.
41-year-old Terrance Brainell Williams, of Silver Spring, was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his residence. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Quentin Tyrone Davis.
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 11:37 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Davis in the parking lot of the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center with an apparent gunshot wound. Davis, who was a guest at the hotel, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Davis was walking through the parking lot toward the hotel when he was approached by the suspect. During the encounter, the suspect shot Davis and ran from the area.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage that showed a car being driven to the area and parked near the scene. A person, later identified as Williams, was seen getting out of the car and walking toward the hotel. After the shooting, the same person returned to the car and drove away on Rockville Pike.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that Williams and Davis knew each other. Detectives also connected Williams to the vehicle seen leaving the area and confirmed he was in the area at the time of the shooting.
Williams has been transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held pending a bond hearing.
