For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 17, 2026
Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will have the opportunity to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
The County Executive will discuss the impact of the single-largest deregulatory action in U.S. history conducted by the Trump administration last week. Sweeping cuts undo decades of environmental protections and progress made by lawmakers and upheld by courts.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government, and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’[email protected] on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
You can view the media briefing live on the County’s Facebook page and YouTube page. Provided there are no conflicts, you can also watch the briefing on County Cable Montgomery.
