For Immediate Release: Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Montgomery County Recreation will open registration for its winter youth basketball programs on Monday, Sept. 29, at 8:30 a.m. These programs offer a dynamic and supportive environment where young athletes can build basketball fundamentals while developing essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and physical fitness.

This year’s offerings include leagues and skills clinics designed for youth in grades K-12.

“Montgomery County Recreation’s youth basketball leagues are a place where young people can learn the fundamentals of the game while also gaining confidence, building friendships and staying active,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “Montgomery County Recreation’s affordable and inclusive programs help our young athletes stay active, create lasting friendships and learn lessons that last far beyond the court. These programs succeed because of community involvement, and I encourage residents to step forward as coaches or officials to support our kids and strengthen our neighborhoods.”

  • In person at the County’s administrative office (2425 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, 10th Floor) 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or at any Recreation Center during business hours.
