Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating two commercial armed robberies that occurred on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the 11400 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. At approximately 11:15 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial armed robbery.

The investigation has revealed that a male suspect entered Genet Ethiopian Market, implied that he had a handgun and demanded. After searching the counter area of the store, the suspect left the scene without stealing any money or property.

Shortly after, the same suspect entered Rhuth’s African Kitchen and approached an employee who was working behind the counter.
