Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Fatal Collision; Victim Identified

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal collision in North Bethesda, where a 22-year-old adult male motorcyclist was killed.
On Monday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., the driver of a black Toyota Sienna minivan was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike, making a left turn on Tuckerman Lane when the car struck Baeley Aubrey Thackston, of Rockville, driving a Yamaha MT07 motorcycle, who was traveling northbound on Rockville Pike approaching Tuckerman Lane. The driver of the Toyota remained at the location and was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the intersection. Thackston was pronounced dead at the scene, despite attempted life-saving efforts.
CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information related to the incident to contact CRU at (240) 773-6620.
