Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision; Victim Identified

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on the evening of Monday, September 30, 2024. The pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old Dominique Mwepu, sustained life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead on the scene.
At approximately 7:55 p.m., Montgomery County Police Department 5th District Officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Frederick Road and High Point Drive for reports of a collision involving a blue Honda Prelude and a pedestrian.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
