Due to the opening of the 2024 Maryland General Assembly, County Executive Elrich will be conducting his virtual weekly media briefing from Annapolis starting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
This week he will focus on changes being made to impact recruiting and employment for the Montgomery County Police Department. With public safety a top concern in the community the County Executive and his team are developing solutions to strengthen the department and put more officers on the street. The County Executive will be joined by MCPD Chief Marcus Jones to discuss those efforts.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss important issues with key members of the County government. Members of the media who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at by 12:30 p.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
If you are not a member of the media and/or cannot gain access to participate, the briefing can be viewed live on the County’s Facebook page and County Cable Montgomery at Comcast/RCN Channel 6 and HD Channel 996 or Verizon Channel 30.
