Washington D.C. Man Arrested in Connection to New Hampshire Avenue Carjacking; Second Suspect Outstanding – MocoFeed

Gaithersburg, MD – 36-year-old Perry Lee Jennings, of Washington D.C., has been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on Monday, December 4, 2023.

At approximately 7:08 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 10200 block of New Hampshire Ave., for the report of an armed carjacking.

The investigation by detectives revealed that the adult female victim had just finished pumping gas and was returning to her 2021 Audi Q5 when an unknown suspect attempted to gain control of the victim’s vehicle. A physical struggle ensued and the victim was thrown to the ground. When the victim looked up, she saw one of the suspects display a handgun. The second suspect got into the passenger seat of the vehicle and the suspects drove away.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed Jennings as one of the suspects.

On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Jennings was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery and assault. He is currently being held without bond.

Jennings also has an open warrant with the U.S. Marshals Service on an unrelated case.

Detectives continue to search for the second suspect. He is described as a Black male, between 16 and 25-years-old, approximately 6-feet to 6-feet, 2-inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds, of a dark complexion, thin build, wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing.
