For Immediate Release: Tuesday, June 27, 2023
Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will have the opportunity to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28.
This week the County Executive will be discussing the forthcoming change in state law that will allow for the sale of marijuana to adults 21 and up even if they don’t have a medical marijuana card. This was not enacted by Montgomery County lawmakers, but something the County will have to deal with starting July 1. The County Executive plans to take the media through some of the plans to help educate the community and detail how some potential issues will be handled.
The weekly media briefing offers reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and important issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Members of the media who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at by 10:30 a.m. the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
If you are not a member of the media and/or cannot gain access to participate, the briefing can be viewed live on the County’s Facebook page. It is also available on County Cable Montgomery at Comcast/RCN Channel 6 and HD Channel 996 or Verizon Channel 30.
