On Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public meeting to present plans for new sidewalks at various locations within the Glen Haven Elementary School (10900 Inwood Avenue) in Wheaton and Sligo Middle School (1401 Dennis Avenue) in Silver Spring walksheds.

The MCDOT Safe Routes to School team has conducted safety assessments of the Glen Haven Elementary School and Sligo Middle School walksheds. This assessment, which is referred to as a walkability study, reviewed the condition of existing infrastructure and developed improvements that may be implemented within the school walksheds to provide safe and accessible routes for students walking and biking to and from school.
