Virtual Public Hearing on the Proposed Modification to the Highland Stone Residential Permit Parking Area in Potomac to be Held on Tuesday, Nov. 18 – Mocofeed

Posted on October 27, 2025

For Immediate Release: Monday, October 27, 2025

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing to discuss the proposed modification of adding Bunnell Street to the current Highland Stone Residential Permit Parking Area in Potomac. The public will have an opportunity to provide testimony and ask questions.

The Residential Permit Parking (RPP) Program began in 1974 to reduce the impact of non-residents parking on neighborhood streets in areas near certain public facilities and land uses (such as Metrorail stations) and is governed by Executive Regulation 13-23. Parking by too many non-residents can restrict resident access to on-street parking, increase air and noise pollution, and create unsafe traffic conditions.

At the public hearing, MCDOT will present project details and the schedule. MCDOT will also obtain public testimony and answer questions. Public input is encouraged and may influence the final decision.

Please register online to attend the hearing. After registering, the Zoom platform will send attendees an email containing the Zoom link and passcode needed to attend the virtual hearing.

The public is encouraged to visit the project website and provide feedback via the online written testimony form or by email to the Project Manager, Douglas Halpert, at [email protected] by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec 16. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony. All information provided will become a matter of public record.

Interpreter services will be provided upon request with at least five business days’ advance notice. To request interpreter services, email Lori Main at [email protected] or call 240-777-7271 no later than Monday, Nov. 10.
