On Monday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual (online) public hearing to discuss a requested Leighton Avenue access restriction in Silver Spring. The public will have an opportunity to provide testimony and ask questions.
The project provides for the installation of a regulatory sign to restrict right turns from westbound Franklin Avenue onto Leighton Avenue from 7 – 9 a.m. and from 4 – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The request was made by residents of Leighton Avenue, in accordance with Executive Regulation 17-94AM , “Through Traffic Volume Access Restrictions in Residential Areas.”
At the public hearing, MCDOT will present project details and the project schedule. MCDOT will also obtain public testimony and answer questions. Public input is encouraged and may influence the final decision to approve or deny the requested access restriction.
