Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have charged 29-year-old Vanessa Tjongarero-Henderson of Clarksburg and 36-year-old Samantha Raebel of Phoenix, AZ with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Hilde Henderson of Silver Spring. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspects.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:11 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Charter House in the 1300 block of Fenwick Lane for a check the welfare of a resident.
Upon arrival, officers located Henderson, a 67-year-old woman, dead on scene.
Henderson was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy was conducted. The cause of death was ruled a homicide.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Henderson’s daughter, Vanessa Tjongarero-Henderson, and Vanessa’s girlfriend, Raeble, as the suspects.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant against Tjongarero-Henderson and Raeble, charging them both with first-degree murder.
