Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred on Sunday June 21, 2026, in Rockville. The collision resulted in the death of 20-year-old Jacob James Hale of Rockville.
At approximately 1:16 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way for the report of a collision involving two motorcycles.
The investigation has revealed that a black 2007 Honda CBR600 and a white and black 2006 Honda CBR600 were traveling together westbound on Norbeck Road when the motorcycles made contact with one another. Following the contact, both operators lost control and both motorcycles left the roadway.
Hale, the operator of the black 2007 Honda CBR600, subsequently struck a curb and a traffic sign support.
The operator of the 2006 Honda remained at the scene and was uninjured during the collision.
