Three Teens Arrested Following Olney Area Robberies

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, March 19, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department- 4th District Station have arrested and charged three teens following a string of robberies that occurred in the Olney area.

On Saturday, February 15, 2025, 4th District officers responded to the Harris Teeter in the 18100 block of Town Center Drive for the report of a strong-arm robbery. The investigation has revealed that eight juveniles approached two victims. Through the course of the investigation, a 16-year-old male was developed as a suspect

On Sunday, March 9, 4th District officers responded to a McDonald’s in the 18000 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an armed robbery. Investigators learned that the victims were in the bathroom when they were approached by three suspects, including the same 16-year-old male who committed the strong-arm robbery on Town Center Drive.

At approximately 6 p.m., on Friday, March 14, 2025, 4th District patrol officers observed two of the suspects, a 16 and 15-year-old involved in the robberies, alongside a separate 16-year-old old in the Olney Village Shopping Center. Officers quickly apprehended all three individuals.

The 16 and 15-year-old were taken into custody and charged accordingly for the robberies. The 15-year-old was in possession of a firearm, when apprehended by police.

The separate 16-year-old was also in possession of a firearm at the time.

Both 16-year-olds were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

The 15-year-old was transported to the Cheltenham Detention Center.
