Three Juveniles Arrested in Connection with Colgate Way Armed Carjacking

For Immediate Release: Monday, September 30, 2024

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested three juvenile males, one 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds, following an armed carjacking that occurred on Friday, September 27, 2024, in the 13700 block of Colgate Way.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed carjacking.

The investigation has revealed that the three suspects physically assaulted the victim after she exited her vehicle in the parking lot. The suspects took her car keys, cellphone and fled in her vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, September 28, officers arrested all three suspects at a 7-Eleven on Lockwood Drive after exiting the carjacked Lexus.

The 17-year-old was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged as an adult with armed carjacking and related charges. The 15-year-olds were transported to a juvenile detention center facing the same charges. All three suspects are being held without bond.
