Thefts from Auto Investigation Leads to Two Arrests, Recovery of Stolen Property and Firearms – Mocofeed

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit have arrested 30-year-old Craig Pendergrass of Silver Spring and 38-year-old Antonio Gordon of Frederick in connection to a series of thefts from autos that occurred in Bethesda.

 

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 14, 2026, officers responded to multiple reports of thefts from autos in the area of Broad Brook Drive, Enfield Road, Page Avenue and Locust Hill Road.

 

Victims reported several stolen items, including electronics, personal property and work-related equipment.

 

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage in the area, which captured two suspects checking vehicle door handles and entering unlocked vehicles.

 

Some of the stolen items were later tracked to a Motel 6 located in the 4900 block of Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg.

 

Through the investigation, detectives identified Antonio Dante Gordon and Craig Pete Pendergrass as the suspects. Detectives determined that Gordon and Pendergrass were staying in a room at Motel 6.

 

 

Detectives obtained a search & seizure warrant for the room where Gordon and Pendergrass were staying.

 

Pendergrass was arrested after leaving the motel and was found in possession of stolen property belonging to multiple victims.

 

During the search of the room, Gordon was taken into custody. Officers recovered numerous stolen items, including electronics and other property linked to the Bethesda thefts. Two firearms previously reported stolen in a separate Montgomery County case were also recovered.

 

Gordon and Pendergrass were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with multiple counts of theft: $1,500 to under $25,000, rogue and vagabond and related charges. They are being held without bond.
