Gaithersburg, MD – Wildy Cherubin, 38, of Silver Spring, has been arrested following a multi-agency investigation that led to the seizure of a firearm, narcotics, U.S. currency, and documents related to identity theft and fraud.
Following an investigation by the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Investigations Division (SID), and the Drug Enforcement Administration Washington Division, with assistance from the MCPD SWAT Team, 4th District Community Action Team, 3rd and 4th District Special Assignment Teams and the Financial Crimes Unit, Cherubin, also known as “Young Weegi,” was arrested on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
On Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, 2026, detectives executed multiple search warrants as part of an extensive investigation. Detectives developed information indicating that Cherubin was distributing significant quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine and was using stolen identities to rent an apartment and conceal other criminal activity, including drug distribution.
These warrants led to the seizure of:
• Approximately 2.1 kilograms of suspected cocaine
• Approximately $8,400 in U.S. currency
• Approximately four pounds of marijuana
• Approximately 11 grams of crack cocaine
• One firearm, a magazine, and ammunition
Cherubin was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where he is currently being held without bond.
