The Green Team club at Seneca Valley High School hosted Maryland Eco Heroes, the school’s first Environmental Careers and Stewardship event, connecting students with local environmental organizations focused on conservation, sustainability and community action. Representatives from six organizations across Maryland and Montgomery County visited the school to share information about environmental careers, sustainability efforts and conservation work happening throughout the region.

During the event, students heard directly from professionals about their roles in the community and explored opportunities for involvement through volunteering, SSL hours, internships, youth programs and future careers. They also had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with speakers.
“It was a meaningful and impactful experience for our students,” said Science Teacher and Green Team Sponsor Luz Laboy-Acosta.
