Ride On Flex On-Demand Transit Service Update: Rockville and Glenmont/Wheaton Zones Will Be Discontinued Effective July 1, 2026
Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will discontinue on-demand transit service in the Rockville and Glenmont/Wheaton Flex zones effective Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The final day of service for these zones will be Tuesday, June 30. Flex Zone 918 will remain in operation, offering flexible on-demand transit services in the Sandy Spring and White Oak area.
We recognize that this change may impact your transportation plans, and we encourage riders to share their feedback as we prepare for this transition.

MCDOT remains committed to supporting residents through a variety of transportation options. Programs such as Call‑N‑Ride and Same Day Access continue to assist eligible community members with essential mobility needs.
The County has implemented a zero-fare policy for all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex, and Flash buses.
