For Immediate Release: Monday, October 27, 2025
Reporters are encouraged to participate in this week’s virtual media briefing on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 11:30 a.m., where they will have the opportunity to ask Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Rich Madaleno questions. County Executive Marc Elrich remains away on business this week.
The CAO will focus on federal SNAP benefits, which are likely to be on hold starting in November because of the federal shutdown, as demand continues to surge for County food resources. He will also discuss tips and suggestions for fallen leaves and provide an update/reminder on the County’s recently implemented ban on gas-powered leaf blowers.
His guests this week are:
- Heather Bruskin, director, Office of Food Systems Resilience
- Mary Travaglini, program manager, Department of Environmental Protection
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should contact Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’[email protected] by 10:30 a.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
You can view the media briefing live on the County’s Facebook or YouTube pages. Provided there are no conflicts, you can also watch the briefing on County Cable Montgomery.
