Montgomery County’s Weekly Media Briefing at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, to Feature Representative Jamie Raskin to Discuss Federal Government Impacts on Montgomery County – Mocofeed

Posted on October 22, 2025

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 21, 2025

Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County leaders questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Chief Administrative Officer Rich Madaleno will be filling in for County Executive Marc Elrich, who is not available.

Mr. Madaleno is scheduled to have Rep. Jamie Raskin on as his guest to discuss the ways that Montgomery County continues to be impacted by the shutdown and the potential harm that will begin in January when fewer residents can afford health care coverage because of rising premiums. Rep. Raskin will spend the morning in a meeting hearing directly from health care providers within the County. Due to the roundtable immediately preceding the media briefing, be prepared for it to begin a few minutes late.

The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’connor@montgomerycountymd. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.

You can view the media briefing live on the County’s Facebook page and YouTube feed. Provided there are no conflicts, you can also watch the briefing on County Cable Montgomery.
