Montgomery County’s Third ‘Summit on Aging’ on Thursday, Oct. 26, to Display Efforts to Build an Age Friendly Community for a Lifetime

For Immediate Release: Monday, October 23, 2023

Montgomery County’s efforts to create an “Age-Friendly” community will be on display from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the County’s third “Summit on Aging” at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Downtown Silver Spring. Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Councilmember Gabe Albornoz will be among those attending the Summit on Aging, which is a free event that will offer residents the opportunity to voice concerns, engage in discussions with County and State leaders and help envision the County as a “Community for a Lifetime.”

While in-person reservations have filled the event for participants, interested residents can participate virtually. Media members can attend in-person or virtually. To attend in-person, contact Nordea Lewis at nordea.lewis@montgomerycountymd.gov

Those attending in-person and online can participate in breakout sessions that will explore these topics:

  • Designing a Community for Longevity
  • Caring and Supporting Each Other
  • Staying Connected and Engaged
