Montgomery County to Host Joint Swearing-In Ceremony for Fire Chief Smedley and Police Chief Yamada on Oct. 22 in Wheaton

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Andrew Friedson and County Council Public Safety Committee Chair Sidney Katz will participate in the swearing-in ceremony for Fire Chief Corey Smedley and Police Chief Marc Yamada at 5:1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Wheaton High School.

The event will begin with a meet and greet reception from 4-5 p.m., followed by the swearing-in ceremony at 5:15 p.m. Wheaton High School is located at 12401 Dalewood Drive in Wheaton.

Chief Smedley assumed the role of fire chief on July 15 and Chief Yamada assumed the role of police chief on
July 1.

TIME : The swearing-in ceremony is planned for 5:15 p.m. There will be a meet and greet reception at 4 p.m.
