Clinics Available Through Friday, Sept. 25

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is offering free vaccination clinics for students now through Friday, Sept. 25, to help families ensure children are up to date on required school immunizations before the start of the new school year.

The clinics are designed to help students meet Maryland’s school immunization requirements and avoid exclusion from school due to missing vaccinations. Maryland schools must maintain proof of required vaccines on file for all students in kindergarten through grade 12.

Parents and guardians can find information about Maryland’s school immunization requirements by visiting the Maryland Department of Health Center for Immunization’s webpage.

All students entering seventh grade must receive the tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap), and the meningococcal (MCV) vaccine. Parents and guardians should submit updated immunization records to their child’s school health office before the first day of school.

Free vaccines are available to all Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students, regardless of insurance status, through the County’s Back-to-School immunization campaign. Available free vaccines include Tdap, meningococcal, HPV, varicella (chickenpox), measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), meningococcal B, and COVID-19 vaccines.

“Every child deserves a healthy start to the school year,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “These free clinics help remove barriers for families by making required vaccines easy to access at no cost. Staying current on immunizations protects individual students, helps prevent the spread of disease in our schools, and strengthens the health of our entire community. I encourage parents and guardians to review their children’s immunization records now and make an appointment if any vaccines are needed.”

The 2026 Back-to-School Immunization Clinics schedule is available on the DHHS Vaccines for Children webpage. To schedule an appointment or confirm clinic hours, call one of the following Montgomery County immunization clinics:

  • Dennis Avenue Health Center: 240-777-1050
  • Germantown Health Center: 240-777-3380
  • Silver Spring Health Center: 240-777-3160
  • School Health Services Immunization Center: 240-740-4430

Children ages 18 and younger who are uninsured, enrolled in Medicaid, or American Indian/Alaska Native may also qualify for additional vaccines, such as polio or pneumococcal. Parents and guardians should call one of the clinics listed above to learn more.
