Montgomery County will host the annual celebration of “Bike & Roll to School Day” from 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at Forest Knolls Elementary School in Silver Spring. Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, the County Department of Transportation and representatives of the County’s Vision Zero Initiative are expected to attend the event.

On May 7, thousands of schools across the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico—will participate in Bike & Roll to School events. The initiative focuses on healthy lifestyles and safety. Schools and the surrounding neighborhoods participate in the campaign by raising awareness of traffic rules, increasing physical activity and raising awareness of drivers to share the road with cyclists.
