Free Event to Feature Live Music, Family Activities, STEM Experiences, Art, Dance, and a Vinyl Record Sale
Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will host Vinyl Day 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Rockville Memorial Library, located at 21 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
The free event will celebrate music, creativity, and community with live performances, interactive activities, family programming, and opportunities to explore the enduring appeal of vinyl records. The event is open to all ages, and no registration is required.
“Montgomery County Public Libraries’ branches are places where people come together to learn, discover new interests, and connect with one another,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “Vinyl Day brings people of different ages and backgrounds together through music while highlighting the important role our libraries play as welcoming spaces where everyone can learn, create, and build community.”

Visitors can enjoy performances throughout the day on the main stage featuring Brazilian rhythms, cumbia, K-pop, rock en Español, DJs, and hip-hop demonstrations. Activities for children include storytime, a dance party, and a STEMusic performance. Teens can participate in a silent disco party and a K-pop dance workshop.
Drop-in activities will include:
- The Science of Audio Room.
- Arts and crafts presented by VisArts.
- A vinyl record sale hosted by the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC).
Vinyl Day is presented in partnership with FOLMC.
