Montgomery County Police Investigate Toddler’s Death

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division is investigating the death of a two-year-old girl found inside a car.
On Wednesday, May 7, at approximately 1:44 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel and 4th District officers responded to a residence in the Wheaton-Glenmont area for a working code involving a child in a vehicle.
Upon arrival, first responders located a two-year-old girl who had been in the car for several hours. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The toddler was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where the cause and manner of death will be officially determined.
This remains an active investigation. However, the case is not being investigated as a homicide, and no additional details are available for release at this time.
