“This event brings together some of the best things about Montgomery County — our students, our educators, our families and a real commitment to giving young people the tools to solve problems and think creatively,” said Montgomery County Marc Elrich. “KID Museum has created a space where kids can learn by doing, and where curiosity turns into skills they’ll carry with them. I’m glad we’re supporting an event that opens the door for more students to imagine themselves as inventors and changemakers.”

The annual event will include a variety of interactive activities for all ages, including:

  • Drones and robotics races.
  • Demonstrations of cutting-edge technology, including virtual and mixed reality.
  • 3D printing, screen printing, activities and invention challenges.
  • A showcase of more than 100 student inventions developed through the Invent the Future Challenge.
  • Interactive exhibits from innovative local businesses and organizations.
  • Food, music and networking.
  • Free entry to KID Museum’s experiential learning space.

Montgomery County is a hub for biotechnology and MedTech industries. The “Invent the Future Expo” builds bridges between businesses and industry benefitting Montgomery County students. As a creative space for innovation, KID Museum inspires the next generation of inventors and changemakers among Montgomery County’s youth.

The event will feature festival booths with engaging opportunities including challenges, crafts, games and activities. Inventions made by middle school students throughout the DMV to improve life on our planet will also be on display.
